Atmosphere(9) Capital Grille in Burlington is an upscale steakhouse chain that looks like youve stepped into some aristocrats mansion. The dark-wood-paneled dining room is decked out in sumptuous leather, rich red carpeting, and antique hunting portraits. Menu(9) The menu is concise, but packed with inventive variations on traditional steakhouse fare. Portions(8) Steaks are enormous, and sides like the fantastic au gratin potatoes could feed a crowd. Appetizers(8) First, textbook-perfect Calamari was pan-fried, Rhode Island-style, tender rings flavored with garlic and fiery cherry peppers. Lobster Crab Cakes were bursting with sweet chunks of seafood, with only a modest amount of filler. Food and Drink(8) Next, Phantom tucked into one of the best takes on surf and turf anywheretender filet mignon, grilled to a rosy pink, and a mound of sweet lobster poAched in rich butter. The Kona Crusted Sirloin, rubbed with coffee and finished with shallot butter, sounded great on paper but the potent flavor threatened to overwhelm the premium dry-aged beef.
